Overall, this was an extremely successful and beneficial decision for me. It is still amazing after 6 weeks to awaken in the morning and be able to see accurately and immediately. To have one’s sight completely restored after 35 years particularly given the extremity of my prescription is remarkable. The surgery itself was painless and over very quickly. I was impressed with the professional attitude and behavior of the attending staff. Everything seemed geared toward assuring a routine and supportive experience. The recovery period was brief and relatively uneventful. My eyes occasionally felt dry and itchy-as if I had been wearing contact lenses for a long period-but they were never painful and I never had to take additional pain medication. I have recommended this procedure to numerous friends and acquaintances to date and would not hesitate after 6 weeks to continue doing so.
I had extremely poor vision prior to LASIC surgery. I had worn glasses and contact lenses since the age of 8. I am 47 years old. When I made the decision to have the surgery, I initially elected to do each eye separately. But as I learned more about it, I changed my mind and decided to do both eyes at the same time. I was moderately nervous the few days before the surgery. The actual surgery was much easier than I anticipated. The whole process was painless and took about 15-20 minutes. Dr. Caster and staff were extremely professional and understanding all the way through. I am writing this, 2 days post surgery. I have no pain. My left eye is a little irritated by not much. DI am driving without glasses and can see better than ever in my life. My vision is 20/25 in my right.
Your eyes are your most prized possession and you want to make sure they are put in very knowledgeable hands. After a lot of research I can only tell you about my experience. This procedure is even easier than getting you teeth cleaned no pain and instant results. I could have gone very easily to someone in my own area to do the procedure but I chose Dr. Caster and his staff for his credentials and the way he presents himself. After about 30 minutes of being in the hands of Dr. Caster and his staff my friend Sue and I were treated like one of their family and we had known them for a very long time. They are all very warm caring people and they do care!! Through all the laughter and tears I find myself a new person and a very happy person who can see once again without the dreaded glasses. Surprisingly quick, miraculously effective, Lasik truly is one of the wonders of the late 1990’s. Indeed, it’s as if the millennium has come a few years early to Ophthalmology. The Caster Eye Center was with the precision and smooth efficiency of a fine Swiss watch. Everyone is friendly, courteous, and willing and capable of putting the most anxious patients at ease. From Dr. Caster to the technicians to the receptionists, everyone is acutely aware of how sensitive people are about their eyes, and that even though they as staff have been through the procedure thousands of times, this is the first time for each patient. I’ve known Dr. Caster for more than 12 years. I have always respected his abilities, professionalism and his calm reassuring manner.
After waiting years for this procedure, I cannot believe that it has finally happened. I have worn glasses since I was five years old, then graduated to both contacts and glasses. I am a very active person- body building, cycling, fitness walking swimming- just about everything but it was always so cumbersome with glasses or contacts. I was very frustrated because everyone told me that the surgery was too risky. I then read an article in shape magazine, which was written by Dr. Caster. I called, had my consultation and was very impressed. Dr. Caster and Dr. Hoff were very accommodating, professional and knowledgeable. I had the surgery done on 10/22/98. The procedure took less than 5 minutes and a new life was given to me. Immediately after I could see. I felt no pain and the feeling of being able to see was beyond my wildest expectations. This is my new birth!!! I personally recommend this to everyone. It is worth every penny of it. Actually I can go out and sell Lasik. No one was more frustrated with poor vision than I was. Right now I feel I can conquer the world. If I see any clearer than this, the universe will be in trouble!! No words can express my total gratitude!! The staff also gets a big thumbs up!!! All I can say is, it’s truly amazing. I highly recommend Dr.Caster. The procedure is simply, fast and successful. Before my eyes were so bad I couldn’t even read the big “E”. Now I have 20/20 vision and I can live my life without having the inconvenience of glasses. It’s really amazing.
My experience with Lasik surgery performed by Dr. Caster was mind blowing. My vision was very poor, about -6.20 in the left, and -2.00 in the right. I had RK in the right eye. My corrected vision was about 20/40. This operation was the shortest, easiest, and most painless operation that I ever had- yet it yielded the greatest benefit. In one day my vision has improved to about 20/25 and 20/30. There was no itching, no cloudiness after 2 hours- just excellent eyesight with zero side effects! Thanks a million.

It was the easiest thing I have ever done. Getting blood drawn is more traumatic. I woke up the next morning and could see better than I ever could with contacts. The next day there was no irritation or any pain. It was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. Dr. Caster is truly amazing.
Though I was nervous the day of my surgery (for no logical reason), I was immediately put at ease by Stuart and his upbeat personality. He joked around, explained the procedure again, and gave me a pill to relax. Boy, did that pill help. After that I felt great! Everyone was warm and reassuring. The surgery was swift and painless, and yes, I could see well immediately afterwards. I felt good for the rest of the day (my surgery was at 4:00) and went to bed early. I woke up with a crustiness on my lashes. Today I drove to work without my contacts- amazing! This afternoon I see even better. During the day I had to keep reminding myself that my contacts were not in. My vision was excellent. I’m thrilled to have treated my self to good vision. No more lasses, contact, solutions, and dry eyes.

Truly Amazing! The LASER procedure was the very best thing I ever did for myself! It is such a relief not to struggle with contact lenses…losing them, ripping them, rushing to put them in and out. Dr. Caster and his staff are the best! They made me feel welcome, comfortable and confident with my decision. I have told several of my friends about my improved eyesight and ease and I would highly recommend the easy procedure.
My experience with Dr. Caster and his staff were absolutely wonderful. Each person I encountered was so professional and nice. I always felt so comfortable. The surgery was really a piece of cake. The surgery was explained in depth many times. Each of my questions was taken as a true concern- even the ones I thought were “stupid”. The procedure did not hurt a bit- the only discomfort was when they pulled off the tape!
There was no discomfort or pain that day or thereafter. My eyes felt as if nothing had happened to them. I could see immediately and perfect distance vision the next day. It’s a miracle! - Why Lasik? It became very difficult for me to wear glasses or contacts comfortably, so I began to research corrective surgery. I chose Lasik because ofit’s relatively quick healing time and least painful procedure.
- As expected, I was very nervous on the day of surgery, though it was very helpful that I had done so much research and was very familiar with the procedure. Dr. Caster and his staff were very supportive and talked me through the entire procedure, so nothing was unexpected and I knew exactly what was going to happen and what it would feel like. There was no pain, though there was some discomfort during the forming of the flap. During the laser, you are never left in silence, which I found very comforting, Dr. Caster talked all the way through.
- After surgery, I was already able to see better, On the same day I could watch TV with out corrective lenses. I could even see the clock on the VCR. Today, the day after, I am seeing great, 20/30 from 20/400. And I’m told it will still improve.
- Dr. Caster and his staff are wonderful and really make the experience as worry-free as possible.
Well I want to say Dr. Caster is great and all the people that work here are excellent. Ever since I walked in they were outgoing and very helpful. Don’t hesitate with any question, they are willing to answer. As for the operation, don’t worry it doesn’t hurt it was easy and I had high astigmatism. This is my second day and I feel great.

I have too admit, I was very afraid but the staff reassured me and all I can say is that it was pain-free and very fast! I am free from glasses and contacts. I have perfect vision.
